Community guidelines

By signing up to the UpLift community, you agree:

That you are aged 16 to 25 and have spent time in care

We won’t ask you to prove this, we trust you are who you say you are. This is a safe space for care-experienced young people to talk about their experiences. This community is not for recruiters or organisations and we may remove posts or members that are advertising goods or services.

To be kind and respectful

This is a place to support and learn from each other. It’s ok to disagree but respect other people’s opinions. Any kind of bullying, harassment or hate speech will be removed.

To respect everyone’s privacy

UpLift is an anonymous community and you don't need to tell anyone who you are. If people do post personal information, please keep it within the group.

Not to share other people's personal information without permission

When you are talking about other people (whether they are an employer, support worker or someone else you know), don’t use their name or share their contact details unless they have said you can. It’s fine to talk about an organisation you’ve worked with, but don’t name specific people.

Our promise to you

Our guides will treat everyone with respect. Anything you share with us is confidential, you can read more about this in our privacy policy.

We will be

  • Non-judgmental - we're here to help you with whatever you're going through. No problem is too big, small or embarrassing.
  • Encouraging - we believe you can achieve your goals and we're here to help you make that happen.
  • Collaborative - we're not here to tell you what to do. Instead, we'll work with you to find solutions.
  • Practical - we'll make realistic suggestions and break down advice into actionable steps.
  • Honest - if we don't know the answer to something, we'll tell you. Then we'll do our best to direct you to someone who knows.
